The Portugal Underground Film Festival award winning Udhao, released in 2012, made it’s first screening in Dhaka this past May. From venue to venue, Red Shift Coffee Lounge to Jatra Biroti, this film is worth the applause, both foreign and domestic.
This drama/thriller is about the men who hide in the shadows in the city of Dhaka, and a rickshawallah turned bounty hunter, named Babu, who is hell-bent on finding runaways in order to force them to face their past.
Babu’s ultimate path is disturbed when he faces his biggest challenge - a corrupt politician named Akbar. Babu is convinced an evil spirit posses Akbar and attempts to capture him to retrace the dark path that led him there. Unfortunately, Babu isn’t expecting all the dark secrets that haunt Akbar is about to be released.
