Modi's itinerary on Sunday: How to avoid the traffic

Morning: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start the second day of his two-day visit in Bangladesh from Dhakeshwari National Temple at 8am morning on Sunday.

The city dwellers might face traffic congestion in the adjacent routes mainly at the Gulistan, Shahbagh, Azimpur, Newmarket and Dhaka University area.

After visiting the temple, he will go to the Ramakrishna Mission at Gopibag.

So there is a chance of long tailbacks in the old part of the Capital.

10am: Around 10pm, he would start for Baridhara to witness the new chancery.

On the way to Baridhara from the old town, commuters would face more pressure as the special convoy will move amid tight security on the major roads that connect the old Dhaka to Banani, Gulshan Baridhara, Khilkhet and Uttara area.

12pm: After returning from Baridhara the Indian prime minister will take a break at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, before heading to meet the President Abdul Hamid over lunch at Bangabhaban at 12pm.

So, the routes around Karwanbazar to Motijheel may see tailbacks while the special convoy will move through the president's house.

Modi will get back to the hotel to take rest till the evening.

Evening: As Indian Foreign Secretary Jayasankara announced the schedule at a news conference on Friday, the opposition leader Raushan Ershad would meet him at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia would also call in the Indian Prime Minister in the evening there. Modi is set to address a program at the conference center.

So, around evening there might be pressure on the traffic in the Firmgate, Bijay Sarani, Mirpur area.

After the attending the program he would leave for the Shahjalal International Airport, so there may be congestion in the Bijoy Sarani, Mohakhali, Banani and adjacent areas.
