Top 17 DMP officials transferred

In a major reshuffle in the police administration, 17 top officials of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police have been transferred and given new charges.

The transfers were made following an order signed by the deputy police commissioner (headquarters and admin) under the directives of DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah on Thursday.

SM Jahangir Alam Sarker, acting deputy commissioner (media and publication) of the DMP, issued a press statement yesterday.

According to the order, additional police commissioners (APC) Md Shahb Uddin Koreshi got posting as APC (admin inspection and audit), Shaikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan as APC (crime and operation) and Md Ibrahim Fatemi as APC (logistics, finance and procurement).

Joint commissioners (JC-DB, also DMP commissioner’s spokesperson) Monirul Islam got posting as JC (DB and prosecution), YM Belalur Rahman as JC (logistics) and additional charge of JC (public order and management), Meer Rezaul Alam as JC (operation), Moslehuddin Ahmed as JC (traffic-south) and additional charge of JC (headquarters) and Krishna Pada Roy as JC (crime).

As per the statement, deputy commissioners Md Kaiumuzzaman Khan made DC of Mirpur division, Md Abdul Kuddus given the charge of DC (transport), Abul Foyez made DC (economy & development), Tutul Chakrabarti posted as DC (professional standard and internal investigation), Bidhan Tripura as DC of Uttara division, Probir Kumar Roy as DC (traffic-north), HM Kamruzzaman as DC (prosecution), Muntasirul Islam as DC (media and public relation) and Anowar Hossain as DC of Motijheel division.
