Four people, including a member of the army, have been killed and six others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Kalampur in Dhamrai, on the outskirts of Dhaka.
Of the deceased, three are Obaidul Rahman, 35, of Noakhali, army official Shahidul Islam of Satkhira and Shamsur Rahman.
Savar highway police outpost OC Anwar Hossain said: “A Satkhira-bound bus of Saudia Paribahan skidded off the road and fell into a roadside ditch after it collided head-on with a bricks-laden truck around 5:30am, killing two on the spot and injuring the others.”
“Obaidul and an unidentified woman died on the spot while the other two died on their way to National Orthopedic Hospital in Dhaka,” he said.
