The proposed national budget has set inflation target at 6.2% for 2015-16 fiscal year.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith mentioned this in his budget proposal.
In his speech, the minister stated that inflated is likely to slide down reflecting fall in international oil prices, favourable agricultural production, continuous improvement in domestic distribution system and impact of restrained monetary policy.
For the upcoming fiscal year, the government has set a GDP growth target of 7%, which is higher than the 6.2% growth in the fiscal year's revised budget.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith has placed annual budget proposal around Tk2.95tn (Tk295,100 crore).
The budget size of Tk2.95tn would be 18% higher than the outgoing fiscal year’s original budget of Tk2.5tn and 22.19% higher than the revised budget of Tk2.4tn.
