The cabinet has approved an agreement between Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institutions (BSTI) and Bureau of Indian Standard with a view to ensuring standerdisation of products of the two countries.
The agreement got cabinet nod in the regular meeting presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday afternoon.
Cabinet Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan briefed reporters after the meeting at the secretariat.
As per the agreement, both the institutions will recognise each other's certificates of products' standard.
The testing institutions will have to complete their testing of export products within a set of time.
