JS budget session begins Monday

All preparations have already been taken for the sixth session (budget session) of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (JS).

The budget session is scheduled to begin at 5:30pm on Monday, reports BSS.

President Md Abdul Hamid summoned the sixth session of the incumbent parliament according to the clause (1) of article 72 of the Constitution on May 11.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will place the national budget for 2015-16 fiscal year at 4pm on June 4 with the parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair, said a parliament secretariat source.

The duration and proceedings of the session will be finalised at parliamentary business advisory committee, to be chaired by the Speaker at 4pm on June 1.

The size of the upcoming budget is likely to be Taka 1. 97 lakh crore with the target of 7.6% GDP (Gross Domestic Product) growth.

Earlier, the fifth session of JS was held between January 19 and April 2.
