Hindus from Bangladesh to be legal residents of India

The Narendra Modi government has decided to issue an executive order to help religious minorities from Pakistan and Bangladesh who live in India, to get residential permits, reports NDTV.

The decision will grant relief and a semblance of dignity to lakhs of Hindu and Sikh immigrants who are residing across the country but do not have any papers to support their residential status. For those willing to avail of the offer, the cut-off date will December 31, 2015, the sources told the TV channel.

Rizvi, Dudu’s bail pleas rejected

BNP Joint Secretary-General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and party chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Adviser Md Shamsuzzaman Dudu have been sent to jail rejecting their bail pleas.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Emdadul Haq passed the order on Thursday.

RMG worker killed in Gazipur road accident

A RMG worker has been killed and another injured as covered van ran over him at Gilarchala under Sreepur upazila in Gazipur.

The deceased is Shofiq, 43, son of Mukhtar Hossain of Daubari area and a weaving operator of Paramount Textile. The injured is Hellal Uddin, 36, son of Mahtab Uddin of Bogra and an operator at the utility section of the factory.

Malaysia investigates police over links to mass graves

Malaysia is investigating 12 policemen suspected of involvement in human-trafficking camps found in the remote north of the country.

Four of them had been arrested during various police investigations since early last year said Deputy Home Minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
