A death-row prisoner has died at Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur.
The deceased is Nurul Islam Houlader, 65, the son of Ashraf Ali Houlader, of Jhalakati.
Zannatul Farhad, Jailer of Dhaka Central Jail Part 2 in Kashimpur, said Nurul was taken to the jail hospital as he felt chest pain at around 8:45pm on Tuesday.
Later, he was shifted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Alamgir was given the death penalty in a case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention (Special) Act 2000 in 2003.
