Grandmaster, a brand new political drama serial went on air yesterday on Channel 9. Written by Shahjahan Sourov and directed by Dipankar Dipon, the political TV serial captures the daily lives of a the politically connected family and the numerous incidents surrounding its members.
The drama revolves around a family led by Abul Kalam Azad, a veteran politician who lives in the city with two sons and his daughter-in-law. Yasir, the eldest son who is also a politician seeks party nomination for the upcoming parliamentarian election while his wife, Shaina Rahman, is already an elected MP in the serial. In an unexpected twist, a girl called Rumana suddenly appears in the scene and declares herself to be Yasir’s wife. As the plot unfolds the audience gets to know the individual stories behind the lives of each of the characters.
Raisul Islam Asad, Syed Hasan Imam, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Tarin, Kalyan Corraya and Hasin Roushan are the lead actors in the drama. The serial will be aired on Channel 9 from Saturday to Monday at 10:15pm.
