2 killed in Natore road accident

Two people have been killed and 13 others injured as the driver of a BRTC bus lost control over its steering at Sadar upazila area of Natore.

The deceased are Ansar Lance Nayek Abdul Mannan, 40, son of Quddus Sarker from Gabtali area of Bogra and bus helper Jakir, 35, son of Golam Mustofa from Rashmati area of Dinajpur.

Jholmolia police outpost Sub Inspector Keshab Chandra Choudhury confirmed the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.

The BRTC bus helper Jakir died on the spot and Abdul Mannan died at Natore Sadar Hospital, said Abdul Kalam Azad, residential medical officer.

Abdur Rouf, station master of Natore fire service and Mizanur Rahman, officer in charge of sadar police station said a Barisal –Dinajpur-bound BRTC bus driver lost its control over the steering near Nawpara area of Sadar upazila around 2:40pm on Sunday.

The bus turned to the right side of Natore-Bogra highway and stuck with a roadside tree.

Later, a team of Natore fire service rushed to the spot and admitted 13 passengers to the Natore Sadar Hospital and nearby clinics.
