'More public toilets to be built in Dhaka south'

More public toilets will be built in the filling stations to meet public demand, Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokon has said.

The newly elected mayor made the statement in a view exchange meeting with journalists.

"Before Shab-e-Barat, we will set up street lights to the areas that do not have ones," Khokon said.

Mentioning that the city corporation has Tk250 crore debt, he said: "We are communicating with the finance ministry for getting allocation to pay the debt."

Khokon, the son of the first city mayor of Dhaka Mohammad Hanif, took oath as the DSCC mayor on May 6.
