An evening of Lalon song with Farida Parveen

Indira Gandhi Culture Centre has arranged a musical soiree of Lalon song by Farida Parveen, which will take place today at the cultural centre’s auditorium in the capital’s Gulshan at 6:30pm.

In the event, Farida will render some of the great numbers written and sung by legendary Lalon Fakir, an icon of religious tolerance and secularism remembered for his rejection of all distinctions of mankind based on caste and creed.

Farida,  the recipient of the prestigious Ekushey Padak in 1987, is one of the most popular vocal musicians and a leading exponent of Lalon songs in the country. Her melodious rendering has contributed significantly towards making Lalon songs popular interest both at home and abroad.

The musical event is open for all.
