Gazipur City Corporation Mayor and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser MA Mannan has been shifted to Birdem Hospital from Kashimpur Jail.
Dhaka Central Jail Part 1 Jailer Faridur Rahman Rubel said the GCC mayor's blood pressure was fluctuating from Thursday morning.
"He was shifted to Birdem Hospital upon the jail doctor's recommendation at around 4pm," he added.
GCC mayor MA Mannan has been suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney disease.
Detective Branch of police (DB) arrested MA Mannan from the DOHS Baridhara area of the capital on February 4.
On April 30, police filed a charge sheet against Mannan in a case filed for vandalising vehicles.
