Two women have been killed in lightning strikes at Balia Maharaja village in Atwoary upazila of Panchagarh.
The victims are Budo Rani, 50, wife of late Palanu Chandra; and Sabita Rani, 30, wife of Iswar Chandra.
Officer-in-Charge Shah Alam of Atwary police station said thunderbolt struck the duo while they were working at their home yards during rain around 8:30am Thursday, leaving them dead on the spot.
