Workers' Federation in Satkhira went on a transport strike, protesting the detention of three staff members of a Dhaka-bound bus.
The workers called the strike on Tuesday evening.
Bus owners said even though several buses left for Dhaka on Tuesday evening, they returned back to the district from Jessore.
AK Travels Owner Tahmid Saheed Choyon said: “The authorities are having a talk with the federation but no buses will leave from Satkhira until the matter is solved.”
On Monday, a gang of robbers stormed a bus of Shohag Paribahan and looted cash, ornaments and other valuables from the passengers.
Later, police arrested three of the staff members of the bus including the driver, helper and checker in connection with the robbery.
