Chittagong University Teachers Association yesterday demanded that the salary structure of senior professors or professors be made equal to senior secretariat range and uphold the selection grade in the proposed 8th pay scale.
The teachers association (CUTA) made the demand in a press statement signed by its General Secretary Professor Khasrul Alam Chowdhury protesting abolishing of the selection grade in the upcoming pay scale.
The statement said the proposed 8th salary structure for the government servants recommends reducing the salary range in professor category compared to the secretariat rank. Besides it also suggests cutting down the 7th pay scale structure for the university teacher which is really regrettable and unacceptable for the teachers, the statement noted.
