Al-Qaeda claims responsibility for Ananta killing

Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) has claimed responsibility for brutal murder of freethinker-blogger Ananta Bijoy Das.

Al-Qaeda made the claim in a post on justpaste.it. Ansar Al-Islam Bangladesh tweeted a link to the post around 12:30pm Tuesday.

Bijoy was hacked to death by masked assailants in Subid Bazar area of Sylhet city around 8:30am on Tuesday when he was on his way to work at a bank from home.

“#alQaeda Indian Sub-Continent (#AQIS) is taking responsibility of killing #AnantaBijoy,” the Tweet reads.

AQIS in its message, posted on justpaste.it, said: “We want to say to atheist bloggers ! We don't forget and we will NOT forget others who insult our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Allah (S:).”

“Another file closed! Stay tuned for next target...”

The message was written above the two collaged photos of Ananta Bijoy, one showing him alive and the other showing him dead.

On May 3, Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent leader Asim Umar, in video message, claimed responsibility for killing bloggers Avijit Roy, Oyasiqur Rahman Babu, Rajeeb Haider and Rajshahi University teacher AKM Shafiul Islam.
