3 killed in separate road accidents

Three people have been killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Chandpur, Habiganj and Gopalganj districts.

The deceased are primary school teacher Salma Akter, 30, Khosru Miah, 22, a private car driver, and Alok Mondol, 19, son of Shamol Mondo of Gopalganj.

In Chandpur: Salma was rammed by a goods-laden tractor near Aliganj Teachers’ Training Centre under Hajiganj upazila around 9:30am Tuesday.

“She was declared dead when taken to Hajuganj Health Complex,”said Habiganj police OC Shah Alam.

In Habiganj: Khoshru was killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and private car on Dhaka- Sylhet highway at Shayestaganj.

Highway police OC Ejajur Rahman said: “The accident occurred as a stone-laden truck collided head-on with the private car killing Khoshru one the spot and injuring three others.”

They were admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital, the official added.

In Gopalganj: Alok was killed when a truck hit his vehicle at Choto Demrashur village under sadar upazila.

Gopalganj sadar OC Md Zakir Hossain said: “A speedy driven trick hit the stationed three-wheeler from the back around 6:30am, leaving Alok dead on the spot.”
