A power outage took over the entirety of Chittagong city for one hour as a grid collapsed at 8pm on Monday.
The outage was triggered when a power grid supply line caught fire in the Hathazari area of the port city.
Hathazari municipality committee member Md Muniruzzaman told the Dhaka Tribune: “The firefighters rushed in immediately after the incident to bring the fire under control.”
Power supply was resumed in the city area after an hour, while Hathazari remained without power till filing the report.
