A fire has broken out at a multi-storey building in Banani of Dhaka.
The incident took place at around 5:55pm on the 11th floor of a 14-storey building named "Bonolota" on Monday evening, fire service sources said.
On information, nine firefighting units rushed to the spot to douse the blaze, said fire service duty officer Bhajan Kumar of the central control room to the Dhaka Tribune.
The operation was underway till filing of the report and the fire will take some more time to put out completely, said the official.
The reason behind the fire and the extent of the loss could not be known immediately.
