A convicted prisoner has died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Deceased Jahangir Alam, 32, is the son of Dulal Khan of Kanchanpur village of Savar.
DMCH police outpost ASI Sentu Chandra Das told the Dhaka Tribune that Jahangir fell sick at Dhaka Central Jail on Saturday morning.
Later, he was rushed to DMCH where on-duty doctors declared him dead around 8:10am.
The ASI said Jahangir was awarded six months’ imprisonment by a mobile court in a case under the Narcotics Control Act.
