BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been shifted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from Kashimpur Jail after he fell sick on Tuesday morning.
The BNP leader was shifted to BSMMU around 7:40am from Kashimpur Jail 2, said Jail Super Prasanta Kumar Banik.
He said: “Fakhrul was suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and heart complications. He suddenly fell sick in the morning and later he was shifted to the hospital.”
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was sent to jail in a case filed in connection with an arson attack in the capital’s Paltan on January 5.
