Bangladesh seeks access to survivor of Thai camp

Bangladesh has sought urgent access to its national who has reportedly been found alive in a mass grave in Thailand.

Bangladesh Embassy in Thailand has already been in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand, and sought details of the incident, a foreign ministry press statement said on Sunday, reports BSS.

It said Bangladesh Embassy in Thailand is in constant contact with Thai authorities for follow-up on the matter of consular interview and nationality verification.

The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured all cooperation in this regard, the release adds.

They have further informed that the survivor is being treated with care at a local hospital and his condition is stable and healthy, it reads.

A Bangladeshi national has reportedly been found alive in a mass grave that was unearthed in a remote jungle in Sadao district of Thailand near the border of Malaysia.

The Thai authorities have located the mass grave containing mortal remains of 32 people reportedly from Bangladesh and Myanmar.
