The fire that originated at a bicycle factory of Meghna Group on Saturday morning, has been brought under control in the afternoon.
Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service Akhtaruzzaman said: "A total of nine units of firefighters managed to bring the situation under control around 4pm."
Earlier in the day, the factory caught fire in Masterbari area under Sreepur upazila in Gazipur.
Station officer Tasharaf Hossain of Maona fire station told the Dhaka Tribune that the cause of the fire could not be known immediately.Store officer Mostafa Kamal of Uni-Glory Trans-world Bicycle factory said: "The fire originated at the assembly point of the factory around 1:15pm Saturday where the bicycles are kept for packing."
He said none was injured in the incident as the fire broke out during the lunch break.
