Rainfall is likely to continue across the country over the next five days as the monsoon remains fairly active over Bangladesh, according to the latest weather forecast issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The Met Office said a trough extending from Gangetic West Bengal to the Northwest Bay persists, while the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over the North Bay.
On the first day of the forecast period, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places in Rajshahi division.
Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at places across the country.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged on Friday.
The highest temperature on Friday was recorded at 36.2°C in Satkhira under Khulna division, while Thursday's minimum temperature was recorded at 22.2°C in Gopalgonj under Dhaka division.

On Saturday, rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places in Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions. Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at places across the country.
On Sunday, similar weather conditions are expected, with rainfall likely at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions. Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may continue at places over the country.

The BMD outlook for the next five days indicates that rainfall activity is likely to continue across the country as the monsoon remains active.
