Light rain cools Dhaka

Light rain and cloudy skies brought a slight dip in temperature across parts of Dhaka on Tuesday.

Rain began around 1:45pm in areas like Motijheel, Paltan, Kakrail, Fakirapool, Tikatuli, and Gopibagh.

While the morning started with clear skies, the sun gradually lost its intensity as clouds rolled in.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall is expected intermittently in Dhaka and various other regions across the country by Tuesday evening.

The Met Office reported that an extension of a low-pressure area stretches from West Bengal across southwestern Bangladesh to the northern Bay of Bengal.

In the 24-hour forecast issued at 9am on Tuesday, it was said that many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, a few places in Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions, and isolated areas in Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions may experience temporary gusty winds accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rain or thundershowers.

Additionally, some areas in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may witness moderately heavy to heavy rainfall.

Day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
