In Rangpur, Nilphamari, Mymensingh, Manikganj, and Kurigram districts, five mobile courts targeted illegal brick kilns.
A total of 13 cases were filed, fines amounting to Tk2,270,000 were imposed, and two kilns were shut down while raw bricks were destroyed.
Under the Air Pollution Control Rules, 2022, mobile courts operated in Mugda, Dhanmondi, Shah Ali (Dhaka), and Rangpur, resulting in eight cases, fines of Tk92,000, and warnings issued to five establishments for contributing to air pollution.
In Dhaka’s Jatrabari area, six vehicle drivers were fined a total of Tk30,000 for emitting excessive black smoke.
Meanwhile, in Faridpur, the mobile court seized 82 kilograms of polythene, filed two cases, and imposed fines amounting to Tk1,500.
These operations are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to combat air and environmental pollution across the country.
