Razzaque: Bangabandhu initiated revolution in agriculture

Agriculture Minister and Awami League Presidium Member Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque on Monday said that the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to develop the fate of the farmers.

He recalled the visionary steps taken by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman after the independence.

“Bangabandhu was a genuine friend of country's agriculture and farmers. He had adopted some groundbreaking steps right after our independence to develop the fate of the country's farmers and initiated agricultural revolution,” Razzaque said at a discussion in Tungipara of Goaplganj.

“His worthy daughter Sheikh Hasina is also working relentlessly, giving agriculture the highest priority," he said. “The government has adopted different steps like increasing export of agricultural products, giving big subsidies and also implementing these to develop the farmer's fate of the country.”

The discussion was organised by Bangladesh Krishak League marking the 102nd birth anniversary of Bangabandhu.

Presided over by Krishok League President Samir Chanda, the discussion was also addressed, among others, by former Agriculture Minister and Awami League Presidium Member Begum Matia Chowdhury, Awami League Agriculture and Cooperation Secretary Faridunnahar Laili and Krishok League General Secretary Umme Kulsum Sriti.
