The BCS Livestock Academy in Savar has hosted a two-day training of trainers (ToT) program on “Dissemination of Livestock and Poultry Technologies.”
Emeritus Scientist Dr Kazi M Badruddoza on Wednesday, distributed certificates to the thirty officers from the Department of Livestock Services (DLS) who attended the training from different districts of Dhaka Division, according to a media statement.
The participants were trained on important and devastating diseases such as PPR and FMD (Foot and Mouth disease).
The training program was held on the module which includes the occurrence, symptom, technologies on preventive and control measures.
Moreover, animal and poultry feed related technologies were discussed elaborately for safe meat, milk and egg production, animal biosecurity, export barrier, ARM, foot safety and export barrier.
The trainees, who will act as the resource person for the farmers training in their localities, were exposed to the modern Quality Control (QC) laboratory for safe production of meat, milk and egg.
The session was chaired by DLS Director Dr Debashis Dash, while KGF Executive Director of Dr Jibon Krishna Biswas was present as special guest.
The chief guest reiterated the importance of dissemination of modern technologies to farmers for their benefit and to make the agricultural growth sustainable.
He also emphasized to strengthen the linkage of Research-Extension for sustainable development in agriculture.
The training session was opened by BLRI Director General Dr Jahangir Hossain on March 1 and chaired by Dr Khaleduzzaman, director of Livestock Academy.
