In a bulletin till published on Sunday, the depression is likely to move in a north-northeasterly direction further and may complete crossing the coast during next three to four hours and weaken gradually by giving precipitation.
Under the influence of depression south-eastern part of Bangladesh is experiencing gusty winds with heavy falls. Sea will remain rough, the bulletin added.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to lower local warning signal No 4 but instead hoist local cautionary signal No 3.
The coastal districts of Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Borguna, Patuakhali, Barisal, Bhola and Chandpur and their offshore islands and chars are likely to experience wind speed up to 40-50 kph in gusts/ squalls with heavy falls during the passage of the depression.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice.
