PM provides financial aid to families of arson attack victims

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina provided financial aid to the families of six victims who died in the nationwide arson attacks  following the 10th parliamentary elections. She handed over a collective sum of Tk30 lakh in cheques to the families on Tuesday morning at her office, said her Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim. The recipients are Mosammat Shamsun Nahar, wife of Md Shamsul Haque of Comilla Sadar Dakkhin, Comilla; Farida Begum, wife of late Md Yusuf; Salma Begum, wife of late Mohammad Syed Ahmed; Sumi Aktar, wife of late Rashedul Islam; Abdullah Al Yusuf Rafi, father of late Md Rashedul Islam; and Abdullah Al Suaim Rahat, father of late Md Rashedul Islam, all from Chokoria, Cox's Bazar. The deceased were casualties of the nationwide violence following the general election on January 5, 2014. The three month spat claimed more than 100 lives.
