Schoolboy drowns in Khagrachhari waterfall

The deceased was identified as Monsur Ahmed, 14, son of Md Monir Ahmed of Shalbagan area under the sadar upazila in the district. Monsur was a student of class seven at Natun Kuri High School. Officer-in-charge of Matiranga police station Md Shahdat Hossain said the boy drowned at the Rechang waterfall after he slipped and fell in it around 11am on Thursday. His body was recovered around 11:30am and sent to Khagrachhari Adhunik Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
