Production resumed peacefully across factories in the Savar-Ashulia industrial zone on Thursday morning, including those inside the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ), following several days of labour unrest.
Workers were seen arriving at factories, some using factory-provided transport and others travelling on foot, to join their shifts. A normal presence of workers was observed outside factory premises.
Security has been strengthened across the industrial zone to prevent further unrest. Additional personnel from Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and other law enforcement agencies have been deployed outside key factories in areas including Ashulia and Hemayetpur.
BGB teams are also conducting patrols, monitoring the situation and operating mobile courts.
According to Industrial Police, workers have returned to their jobs peacefully across the Savar, Ashulia and Dhamrai industrial areas, with the overall law and order situation remaining stable.
Mominul Islam Bhuiyan, superintendent of Industrial Police-1, said police remained on high alert to prevent any further labour unrest.
