Father demands fair investigation into Tahsif Sauri's death

The father of Tahsif Sauri, a dismissed flight lieutenant of the Bangladesh Air Force, has called for a fair investigation into his son's death to establish the actual cause.

“My son was a good citizen of this country and a member of the armed forces. I want a fair investigation into his death to uncover the truth,” KM Enayetul Karim told reporters on Friday afternoon.

He said no case had been filed over his son's death, adding that the family had yet to decide whether to pursue legal action.

Karim said filing a case was not the family's priority, urging the government to ensure a proper investigation under the relevant laws.

“As a family, we have not decided whether to file a case. We want the government to take action under its own legal framework rather than focus on whether we submit a written complaint at the police station,” he said.

Uttarkhan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Habibur Rahman said he had contacted Tahsif's father and asked him to file a case, but he had yet to visit the police station.

Meanwhile, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has taken Dip, identified as Tahsif's junior friend, into custody for questioning in connection with the death.

Dip reportedly spent around six hours with Tahsif before he went missing.
