Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to visit Khulna and Bagerhat on Thursday to assess the economic potential and development initiatives in the southwestern region.
During the visit, he will observe the Sundarbans and Hiron Point, attend a meeting at Mongla Naval Base, and inspect Mongla Port and a proposed economic zone.
According to the itinerary provided by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, he will leave Dhaka by helicopter at 9am on Thursday. After observing the Sundarbans and Hiron Point at 10am, he will travel by launch via Dacope in Khulna to Mongla Naval Base.
In the afternoon, the prime minister will attend a meeting at the naval base’s wardroom. The Khulna divisional commissioner and the deputy commissioners of Khulna and Bagerhat are expected to attend.
He will then inspect the jetties at Mongla Port and the site proposed by the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority for an economic zone before returning to Dhaka by helicopter.
