The Home Ministry has decided to form committees in all upazilas across the country to curb juvenile gang activities.
The respective upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) will serve as chairperson, while the officer-in-charge (OC) of the local police station will be the member secretary.
The decision was announced in a statement signed by Home Ministry Public Relations Officer Faisal Hasan on Monday.
The initiative aims to coordinate the efforts of local administrations and police to prevent juvenile gang activities at the grassroots level, Faisal said.
However, the ministry did not disclose the names or positions of other committee members, the activities they will undertake, or a deadline for forming the committees.
