Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President and former information minister Hasanul Haq Inu was taken back to jail after undergoing a medical check-up at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday evening.
He was taken to the hospital’s emergency department under the supervision of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), with assistance from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
CID Inspector Nasir Uddin Sarker said Inu underwent an initial medical examination at the emergency department before officials took him away at around 6:30pm.
Inu was arrested by police in Dhaka’s Uttara area on August 26, 2024, following the fall of the Awami League government. He is facing trial in multiple cases before the International Crimes Tribunal.
