Haileybury Bhaluka, in partnership with Cambridge University Press & Assessment, will host the Safeguarding Leadership Summit 2026 on Wednesday, September 16, at the Sky Ballroom of Le Méridien Dhaka.
The summit will bring together senior policymakers, school leaders, educators and safeguarding practitioners to discuss child protection and safeguarding standards across Bangladesh’s education sector.
Bobby Hajjaj, State Minister of Primary and Mass Education, will attend the summit as chief guest.
The summit is supported by international safeguarding organizations and will feature discussions on standards, frameworks and practices relevant to child protection in Bangladesh.
Cambridge University Press & Assessment is convening the event, drawing on its engagement with schools, educators and policymakers in Bangladesh. Its local team has helped shape the summit agenda, with a focus on applying international safeguarding standards to the local education context.
The summit is being led by Simon O’Grady, who has worked to raise awareness of safeguarding within Bangladesh’s schools. The event will focus on practical strategies for strengthening child protection policies, staff training and reporting systems.
O’Grady said: “This summit is about ensuring that every child in every school in Bangladesh grows up in an environment where their safety and wellbeing come first.”
He added: “By bringing together government, international expertise and school leadership under one roof, we hope to accelerate a genuine, nationwide culture of safeguarding.”
