Four, including one AAG, resign from AG’s office

Four law officers, including an assistant attorney general, resigned from the Attorney General’s Office on Monday, citing personal reasons.

The officers submitted their resignation letters to the office’s administrative officer, according to sources.

They are Additional Attorney General Md Abdul Jabbar Bhuiyan, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Mamun Chowdhury, and Assistant Attorneys General (AAG) Rohani Siddika and Projjal Chakma.

The resignations come amid a campaign by BNP-backed lawyers who were denied appointments, demanding the cancellation of appointments of law officers previously associated with Awami League politics at the Attorney General’s Office.
