Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed grief over the deaths of 16 Bangladeshi nationals in a factory fire in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In a condolence message sent to the media on Monday, the prime minister expressed sympathy to the bereaved families and assured them of all necessary assistance.
Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibli said the prime minister was keeping a constant update on the matter.
He said the prime minister had instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Bangladesh mission in Riyadh to take coordinated initiatives to bring the bodies of the deceased back to Bangladesh.
He also instructed the relevant ministries to take coordinated steps to repatriate the bodies as soon as possible. The Prime Minister’s Office will provide all necessary assistance for the process.
The 16 Bangladeshis died in a fire at a sofa manufacturing factory in Riyadh on Sunday.
