The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken special security measures across the country, including Dhaka, ahead of programs marking July Uprising Day 2026 on Wednesday.
RAB, in a statement, said security had been strengthened after assessing potential risks, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, intelligence agencies and local administrations.
RAB said each battalion has prepared security plans based on local threats and intensified intelligence gathering and surveillance. Plainclothes personnel have been deployed along routes for rallies and processions, at event venues and at July memorials.
Security measures have also been strengthened to prevent sabotage or subversive activities by suspected individuals, and banned organisations. Uniformed and plainclothes personnel have been maintaining heightened surveillance at event venues and memorials in every district since seven days before the observance.
RAB has also stepped up cyber patrolling to prevent rumours and misinformation on social media.
The force said it remains committed to ensuring public safety, preventing crime and bringing offenders to justice.
