The government has appointed 86 deputy attorney generals and 179 assistant attorney generals to represent the state in the High Court.
Separate notifications, issued by the Solicitor Wing of the Ministry of Law on Thursday by order of the president, announced the appointments.
According to the notifications, the government has revoked the appointments of all previously appointed deputy attorney generals and assistant attorney generals.
It then appointed 86 and 179 lawyers of the Bangladesh Supreme Court as deputy attorney generals and assistant attorney generals, respectively, under Article 3(1) of the Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972 (President's Order-6 of 1972).
The appointments will remain in effect until further orders and take effect immediately, the notifications said.
