Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Monday said the government has prioritized creating a secure and stable environment for both domestic and foreign investors.
He made the remarks while speaking as the special guest at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the China Economic and Industrial Zone (CEIZ) in Anwara, Chittagong.
Salahuddin Ahmed said law enforcement agencies would ensure security throughout every phase of the project and take all necessary measures to maintain safe communication systems and uninterrupted operations.
He said the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) has introduced a one-stop service to create an investment-friendly environment.
“This initiative will provide investors with prompt approvals, straightforward utility connections, and essential administrative assistance. The government is committed to fulfilling every commitment made under the G2G agreement in a timely, transparent, and efficient manner,” he said.
The home minister said the industrial zone would create new opportunities for employment, skills development, and economic growth for local communities.
“It represents not merely an industrial zone but also a conduit for a long-term economic partnership between Bangladesh and China. This project will be pivotal in promoting sustainable industrialization and building a prosperous Bangladesh for future generations,” he added.
Salahuddin Ahmed also said the initiative reflects the enduring friendship, mutual trust, and strategic partnership between Bangladesh and China, while opening new opportunities in industrial production, global supply chains, technology transfer, and skilled human resource development.
Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, State Minister for Land Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun, China Economic and Industrial Zone Chairman Wang Benchian, and representatives from the public and private sectors of both countries attended the program.
