Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff Vice-Admiral Khondkar Misbah ul Azim on Saturday discussed maritime security, the modernization of the Bangladesh Navy, and ways to enhance its professional capabilities during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in Dhaka.
The two also exchanged views on other related issues, Prime Minister's Assistant Press Secretary Gazi Shahriar Pamir said.
The prime minister lauded the professionalism of the Bangladesh Navy and its role in safeguarding the country's sovereignty. He wished the newly appointed chief of naval staff success in carrying out his responsibilities.
Vice-Admiral Khondkar Misbah ul Azim expressed his gratitude to the prime minister during the courtesy call.
