A total of 61 new officers have been commissioned into the Bangladesh Navy, marking another milestone in the force’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, protect national interests, and ensure maritime security.
The traditional Summer Presidential Parade of Midshipman Batch 2023-B and Direct Entry Officer Batch 2026-A was held on Sunday at the Bangladesh Naval Academy in Chittagong. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan attended the ceremony as the chief guest, where he inspected the parade and took the salute from the graduating cadets.
The colorful and ceremonious event marked the commissioning of 54 midshipmen from Batch 2023-B and seven Direct Entry Officers from Batch 2026-A, bringing the total number of newly commissioned officers to 61, said a press release.
Among the newly commissioned officers are five women, reflecting the growing participation of women in the Bangladesh Navy. The batch also includes two foreign officers, highlighting the academy’s role in providing professional naval training to international personnel.
The commissioning parade, a prestigious tradition of the Bangladesh Naval Academy, symbolizes the successful completion of rigorous academic, military, and leadership training. The newly commissioned officers are expected to contribute significantly to strengthening the operational capability and professional excellence of the Bangladesh Navy in the years ahead.
