RAB-2 Commander Naymul Hasan has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt law and order using weapons ahead of June 23, the founding anniversary of the Awami League.
He made the remarks on Sunday during a press briefing at the RAB-2 office in Mohammadpur, held in connection with the arrest of five alleged muggers.
The RAB official said that acting on intelligence information, Mowra Sohel was arrested with a firearm. Based on his statement, two more alleged muggers Shafiqul Islam Sabuj and Russell were subsequently arrested. He added that two further arrests were made later.According to RAB-2, Sohel faces 14 cases related to mugging and extortion, while each of the other two accused has one case on record.
Responding to a question regarding security arrangements surrounding June 23, the RAB-2 commander said, “No one will be spared if they attempt to disrupt law and order.”
