A total of 60,588 Bangladeshi pilgrims have returned home after performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Hajj management.
The ministry said 54 Bangladeshi pilgrims died in Saudi Arabia during the pilgrimage.
The ministry also confirmed that 54 Bangladeshi pilgrims died in Saudi Arabia during this year’s pilgrimage. Of them, 36 were men and 18 were women.The highest number of deaths, 37, was reported in Makkah.
Another 16 pilgrims died in Madinah and 1 in Jeddah.
Of the returnees, 4,319 pilgrims travelled under government management, while 56,269 returned under private arrangements.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has brought back the highest number of pilgrims so far, carrying 26,868 passengers as of June 19.

A total of 152 flights have been operated to facilitate the return of pilgrims. These include 76 flights by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 54 by Saudi Airlines, and 22 by Flynas.
The ministry said healthcare services for Bangladeshi pilgrims in Saudi Arabia are still ongoing. So far, 66,249 automated medical prescriptions (e-prescriptions) have been issued from Bangladeshi medical centres, while 28,198 services were delivered through IT helpdesks.
This year’s Hajj was performed on May 26. A total of 78,500 Bangladeshi pilgrims travelled to Saudi Arabia—4,565 under government management and 73,935 under private management.
Return flights began on May 30 and are scheduled to continue until June 30.
