DSCC designates 357 spots for Eid sacrifices

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has designated 357 locations across its jurisdiction for slaughtering sacrificial animals during the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

The list of designated spots across the corporation’s 75 wards was published on Wednesday.

The city corporation has urged residents to perform sacrifices only at the designated locations. Officials say that using specified places for slaughtering animals will help authorities remove waste quickly and carry out cleaning activities more efficiently.

DSCC Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore Md Mahabubur Rahman Talukdar said that cleaning sacrificial waste becomes easier when sacrifices are performed in specific open spaces.

“We want to clean the city as quickly as possible. We have already announced that sacrificial waste will be removed from the city within eight hours after the start of Eid-day sacrifices. We have taken plans accordingly,” he said.

He also requested city residents to perform sacrifices only at the designated spots.
