Religious Minister: Hajj flights to begin April 18

Hajj flights from Bangladesh will begin on April 18, Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad has said.

He made the announcement during a question-and-answer session in parliament on Tuesday.

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram presided over the sitting on the tenth day of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad session.

Responding to a question from Cox’s Bazar-3 MP Lutfur Rahman, the minister said preparations for Hajj 2026 are in the final stage following the announcement of the Hajj package.

He said payments related to both the Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh segments have already been completed, while visa processing and other related activities have been finalised in line with the Saudi timeline.

The minister added that Hajj flights will commence on April 18.

He also said that initiatives will be taken to reduce costs while formulating the Hajj 2027 package, taking into account the overall situation as well as the needs and facilities of pilgrims.
